At present we are preparing for a large-scale European tour in 2005. We plan to visit Europe from May to July 2005. It will be a great pleasure to get the chance of performing for a large audience. We do hope you will be interested in our plans and cooperate with us.

Please let us introduce ourselves.

Just like our japanese name 'Shibusashirazu' (loosely translated: "Never Be Cool") says, we don't stay within the 'cool' frame of jazz bigbands. We reach over into Rock, Japanese Enka, Japanese Pops, Latin, Folk Music, Groove, House and - let's not forget - Jazz.
Our lineup consists of about 20 musicians - the most skillful and creative players in Japan - as well as singers, butoh-dancers, groovedance girls, artists and actors/JapTrad performers. In addition we turn the stage itself into a piece of art with live painting, japanimation screens, stage decoration, and balloon creatures (e.g. a flying dragon of 20m length!). In short, our stage is a big interaction of multimedia, art and improvised music. We are original, and we dare to say: No other band like us exists anywhere on the planet...

We have released 8 albums from our independent label "Chitei Records". We have already toured Europe for 3 times in 1998, 2000, and 2002. In these tours, we played the main stage of Glastonbury Festival 2002 (GB) - as the first independent-label band in the world ! And we have played, for example, at Moers New Jazz Festival (Germany), at the Documenta Kassel (Germany), Nat Jazz Bergen Festival (Norway), Druga Godba Festival (Slovenia) and more. We got great admiration everywhere.
In Japan, we play almost daily in flexible, interchanging lineups, from the huge Orchestra to tiny jam session groups. We played at Fuji Rock Festival - Japan's biggest and most famous rock festival - 4 times in a row from 2000; this is a rare and proud achievement.

We feel certain that we are at our best now. Therefore, we would like to show you our ability.
We have the highest quality of performance and the largest variation of expression. Let us surprise you with an unprecedented new style of total stage improvisation - and heavy hitting groove !
